This was my third shoot with the Jenkins Family! Little Savannah was only about six months when we had our first shoot together. I write this blog from the top floor of Liberty University's library where Jeremy and Cortney graduated, which is exactly what I'll be doing next month!
When I walked into Cortney's house, I saw our first shoot together up on the wall! I didn't say anything then, but something about that hit me like a wave! A wave of love for my role in photography. See, some photographers edit really cool photos with moons, stars and sunsets that are so rarely seen by the human eye, that you almost have to edit them in. But I love to capture exactly what is in front of me. And, in this case, that is a whole, happy, beautiful family! A lot of times I will belittle myself as a photographer because I do not add extra edits to my photos, but looking through this shoot I remember why I don't. To add anything to the perfect simplicity of these moments would be a crime! I document. I document smiles, moments, and memories! I like to think that Cortney will one day show little Luke these very photos when he's five and asks mommy about how little he used to be. Or maybe she'll pull them out to embarrass him when he brings home his first girlfriend. Or maybe these photos will be first in the lineup in a graduation slideshow Cortney puts together for him...
I'm going to graduate next month and start a new chapter.
I'll probably look back over my baby picture to see how far I've come.
Luke has probably noticeably grown in the past few weeks since this shoot!
But these pictures froze those newborn moments that not even TIME--the biggest thief--can take them from us now!
Okay. I'm gonna quit now before I cry, but continue scrolling down to see just how beautiful this family is! <3
I love their little peach fuzz heads!
Savannah, you are one fabulous big sister! And just look at those eyes! <3
Hands down my favorite of these two!
