The Matthews Family | An In Home Maternity Session

The Matthews family is getting ready to become a family of five, and I loved spending an afternoon with them at home for their maternity session.

They wanted photos that felt like their family right now, so instead of spending the session posing, we just played and hung out. We played tag, built with blocks, kissed Mommy’s belly, and even jumped on the couch.

The kids got to be themselves, Mom and Dad got to enjoy their time together, and I got to photograph all of those little moments in between.

I especially love in home sessions for this reason. You do not have to do anything special. We can photograph your family exactly as they are in the place where you are most comfortable.

This season with two little ones at home is almost over, and soon they will be figuring out life with a new baby. There will be a new routine, a new dynamic, and one more little person to love.

But for now, they are a family of four.

And I am so glad we got to capture a little piece of what that looks like before baby arrives.
